Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity has just put up a facebook page online, making it that much easier for you to find out how to get involved. The first way you can get involved is to take part in their upcoming fundraiser. Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity will be sponsoring a bus trip that will leave from Tunkhannock Middle School to the Philadelphia International Flower Show on Sunday, February 28th. The cost for this trip will be $65 per person and includes admission to the show, plus round trip motor coach transportation through JoJo’s Travelers.
Just in case you’ve never been to the International Flower Show in Philly, we’d like to tell you a little bit about it. The show is the largest indoor flower show in the world and attracts over 250,000 visitors annually. Every year the show focuses around a particular theme nearly all exhibits base their design on it. This years show, “Passport to the World”, will focus on horticulture from around the globe from places such as India, South America, the Netherlands and New Zealand, to name a few.
Truly, exhibitors at the International Flower Show are in a botanical class of their own. Using temperature and lighting controls, exhibitors essentially trick trees, shrubs and perennials into blooming in time for the Philadelphia event. As the shows website says, “one of the reasons the Philadelphia International Flower Show is considered the premier gardening event of its kind in the world is due in large part to the exceptional talent of these designers and their ability to exhibit such a great variety of exceptional plants for the Show.”
Why take our word for it though. Get in contact with Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity and get on the bus!
