This week, Tunkhannock has some great live music going on. Starting out this Wedensday with the Tioga Bistro, just across from the Dietrich Theater, Mike Wintermute and Charley Ruddell (of McNothing) will be performing an acoustic set from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Stop in and listen while enjoying great coffees and awesome soup/sandwich combos (and much more). After filling your belly at the Bistro, stop up to the Lake Carey Manor for Open Mic Night hosted by Tunkhannock favorite Chris Langan. Open mic night is great visit to see some of the local talent you don’t get to see on stage, to jam with other local musicians, or just generally socialize with other musicians and fans while enjoying the beverages at the Manor. Don’t want to worry about bringing your guitar with you? No worries, Chris always supplies a house guitar for use.
Ushering in the weekend, Langan will also be playing at the Boathouse in Lake Winola this friday from 9:00pm to 1:00am. Chris plays a great selection of music and always interacts well with the crowd. Accompanying him with congas and witty banter will be his friend and fellow musician Wags. Stop in for excellent music and some great times.
Saturday night should be a great time with the Hairy Edge performing a show at the Creekside Inn to mark the first show of their 10 years playing as a band. Be sure to go out and support them, 10 years is a long time and it’s great to see bands like them sticking together for our listening pleasure.
Also on Saturday night will be Morgans Run at the Highway Inn from 9pm – 1am. A great band that truly plays to their crowd, be sure to check them out especially if you’ve never heard them before.
There is plenty of music going around this week in Tunkhannock, so make certain to go out and support your local musicians and establishments!
